It's been a terrible few weeks for Roma and Paul Robinson thinks that their misery will continue at Cesena this evening.
"Rudi García’s men have long since blown their chances of winning the Serie A title and they now have a battle on keeping their place in the top three and qualifying for next year’s Champions League."
Cesena v Roma
Sunday March 22, 19:45 GMT
Following their promotion from Serie B last year, Cesena are fighting hard to keep their top flight status. With 11 games left of the season, they are in 19th place, just four points adrift of safety. Things were looking bleak in January, but back to back wins over Parma and Lazio kickstarted their revival and while they have since been beaten by Empoli and Milan, they have either won or drawn against Juventus, Udinese, Palermo and Inter.
Domenico Di Carlo's side will fancy their chances of getting a result tonight in front of their own fans against the woefully out of sorts, Roma. The Yellow-Reds crashed out of the Europa League on Thursday and they've won just twice in 16 fixtures in all competitions.
Rudi García's men have long since blown their chances of winning the Serie A title and they now have a battle on keeping their place in the top three and qualifying for next year's Champions League.
Roma have won only once away from home since they beat Udinese on January 6, and that includes three visits to clubs in the bottom half - all of which resulted in draws.
You can't seriously consider backing Roma at odds-on, so with their price trading at around the 1.768/11 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
