We're on the goal trail in Northern Ireland tonight, with both Carrick Rangers and Glentoran leaking plenty of goals in recent weeks.
"Carrick Rangers leak goals at an average of more than two goals per game, and Glentoran have been involved in some lively encounters in recent weeks."
Carrick Rangers v Glentoran
Tuesday February 13, 19:45
A goalless but ultimately harmless start to the week last night, as a 0-0 stalemate between St Pauli and Nurnberg saw our stake returned.
We're off to Northern Ireland for a pancake or two and a NIFL Premiership encounter between Carrick Rangers and Glentoran. Hopefully there'll be some entertainment this evening, and the teams' recent outings suggest there will be.
Carrick Rangers are in trouble at the wrong end of the table, with just three wins to their credit so far this season. Their 4-0 win at Ards last time out was hugely welcome, as it followed a run of four straight defeats. Carrick Rangers have leaked 58 goals in their 26 games, so it's perhaps no surprise that nine of their last 12 league games have featured at least three goals.
Glentoran are mid-table and aren't on great form, with just two wins from their last ten league games. On that basis it's quite tempting to lay the visitors at [1.97], but instead I'm going for Over 2.5 Goals at [2.02]. Five of Glentoran's last six games in league and cup have featured at least three goals, and against the second-worst defence in the league, they should create plenty of chances.
