Despite last night's setback in Portugal, Kev's giving the Primeira Liga another chance to deliver.
"Braga have won seven of their last eight home matches in the league, while Aves are in serious relegation danger."
Braga v Desportivo Aves
Tuesday 30 January, 19:00
Her name is Rio and she loses us some cash. Admittedly, I don't think that's how the Duran Duran classic went, but they probably never backed Rio Ave to get a result at out-of-form Portimonense, only to see them get stuffed 4-1 last night. A view to a kill indeed.
My reflex reaction is to leave Portugal, but we'll tough it out with another selection from the Primeira Liga. Braga are playing struggling Desportivo Aves, and I'm amazed that the hosts are [1.7] for the win.
Braga, or the Archbishops as they are hilariously sometimes known, are on form. They have won six of their last eight league games, and at home they have won seven of the last eight, with the only blip coming against Benfica. Four of those seven victories have been by more than one goal.
Aves are only separated from the relegation zone by goal difference. They have lost five of their last six matches, and have lost their last two games 2-0 and 3-0. Against the bigger teams in the Primeira they have struggled - they lost 3-0 at Sporting, 3-1 at home to Porto and 2-0 at home to Braga. They have also had a change of coach, with Jose Mota in charge after the firing of Lito Vidigal.
I think Braga will win and win comfortably. I was initially tempted to just take advantage of the [1.7] on offer for the home win, but I'll be even greedier and use the Asian Handicap.
