Stumbling hosts to falter again
Ajaccio v Grenoble
Friday 10 January, 19:00
Our fluctuating fortunes took a turn for the better last night, as Setif's shock 2-1 win at MC Alger in Algeria gave us our second winner of the week. We'll look to maintain that momentum in France this evening, because a redoubtable Grenoble side are making the trip to face Ajaccio in Ligue 2.
It's fair to say that Grenoble aren't an easy team to knock over. They have lost just three of their 19 league games so far, and have only been beaten in one of their last 14 second-tier outings. Their problem is turning draws into victories - they have finished games level on 11 occasions this term, and only Nancy have drawn more often.
Ajaccio, from the island of Corsica, are part of the promotion shake-up. They are fourth in the standings, but have lost ground recently, losing their last two matches to promotion rivals Lens and Troyes. At home they have won just three of their last ten league matches, and they have only scored nine Ligue 2 goals at the Stade Francois Coty this term.
Grenoble are tough to beat, and their record of 17 goals conceded in 19 games in the best defensive mar in the bottom half. They have lost just two of their ten away matches in the second tier, and I'll back them on the Double Chance market here at 1.84/5.
