A trip to Premier League giants Liverpool awaits the winners of this FA Cup second-round replay. For many of the players on show, this will be their own FA Cup final.

In a weird turn of events, the Reds actually played both sides in last year's competition, winning 2-1 at Mansfield at the same stage before suffering elimination in the fourth round with a 3-2 defeat by Oldham.

Heavy market support is with League One side Oldham, who have progressed through five of their last six second-round ties in the FA Cup and lost for the first time in ten games at the weekend against Brentford.

Meanwhile, Mansfield are struggling to get any momentum going under boss Paul Cox and haven't won in the league since September.

For all their good form, the Boundary Park residents have rarely managed to keep things tight on the road and their back four is rather brittle. Oldham's inability to keep clean sheets away from home - registering just one from 11 League One games this term - leaves the door open for Mansfield to get on the scoresheet, even if the visitors' extra quality should shine through later in the tie.

Furthermore, the Stags have scored in seven of their nine home League Two games and fired eight in one game past St Albans in the first round of this prestigious competition.

They can hold up their end of the bargain whilst the Latics, who have scored at least one in 11 of their last 12 games, have also both scored and conceded in their last eight FA Cup matches.

First Goalscorer

Former Chelsea youth team captain Danny Philliskirk is starting to find his feet in the professional game after fruitless spells at Sheffield United and Coventry. The 22-year-old played just two games in two years for his previous clubs but has flourished under Oldham boss Lee Johnson this season, especially in cup competitions.

Mansfield will need to be on their toes to stop a player that has scored seven goals in seven cup appearances. With the visitors likely to dominate, Philliskirk looks the prime candidate to open the scoring.
