Dan Fitch picks out the best bets for Tuesday's EFL Cup action and thinks that Leeds will record their third win of the new season.

"Leeds looked a class above Stoke and Derby under new manager Marcelo Bielsa."

Back Leeds to beat Bolton at [1.81]

EFL Cup First Round
Tuesday August 14

Leeds perfect start to the season will continue

Leeds [1.81] v Bolton [4.6]; The Draw [3.8]
Kick off 19:45

Both Leeds and Bolton have made an unbeaten start to the season, though the visitors will have been disappointed at having let a two-goal lead slip in their draw at home with Bristol City at the weekend.

Leeds have won both of their games against sides fancied to be in the promotion mix this season. They looked a class above Stoke and Derby under new manager Marcelo Bielsa, which makes the odds of [1.81] for a home win, very appealing.

Derby can bounce back

Oldham [4.8] v Derby [1.73]; The Draw [4.0]
Kick off 19:45

Frank Lampard looked rather shell-shocked after his Derby team were thrashed 4-1 at home by Leeds on Saturday. Leeds certainly exploited the weaknesses in Lampard's team, who in particular lacked an effective defensive presence in midfield.

Oldham could provide the perfect opposition for Derby to bounce back. The League One side are without a win this season and had to come from behind to draw with Forest Green Rovers in their last outing. Back both teams to score and Derby to win at [3.4].

Goals from both sides at Bramall Lane

Sheffield United [1.91] v Hull [4.0]; The Draw [3.6]
Kick off 19:45

It's an all-Championship clash between two clubs that picked up positive results at the weekend. Both lost their opening games of the season, but picked up their first points on Saturday, with Sheffield United winning away at QPR and Hull claiming a draw at Sheffield Wednesday.

If you had to pick a winner, then the value lies with Sheffield United, who came close to making the play-offs last season. A safer bet though is for both teams to score at [1.83], with neither side having kept a clean sheet so far this season.

Another win for Villa

Yeovil [5.5] v Aston Villa [1.57]; The Draw [4.2]
Kick off 19:45

Aston Villa might be suffering from financial problems, but they have got off to a bright start in the Championship, winning their two opening games. Having kept hold of star players such as James Chester and Jack Grealish, Villa have retained a strong squad and should challenge for promotion once again.

They should also progress in this League Cup tie, after being given a fortunate draw against Yeovil, who are currently 20th in League Two. Aston Villa are a tempting price at [2.6] to win half-time/full-time.

Penalties loom for Championship strugglers

Reading [2.4] v Birmingham [3.00]; The Draw [3.4]
Kick off 20:00

These two Championship teams are still looking for their first win this season, having both narrowly avoided relegation last term. Reading have lost their two games, albeit narrowly, conceding late winners against both Derby and Nottingham Forest.

Birmingham have at least claimed a point, after their 2-2 draw with Norwich on their opening day of the season, which was followed by a 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough on Saturday. It seems likely to be a tight game between the struggling pair, so back the draw at [3.4] and for the game to go to penalties.

Luton can inflict blow on Baggies

West Brom [1.55] v Luton [6.0]; The draw [4.3]
Kick off 20:00

A strong end to a season in which the Baggies were ultimately relegated, ensured that caretaker manager Darren Moore landed the job on a permanent basis and marked out West Brom as a likely candidate to make a swift return to the Premier League.

Yet it has taken WBA until their third game to claim their first win in the Championship, as they triumphed 4-3 at Norwich. With West Brom finding it difficult to keep clean sheets, it's worth taking a chance on a Luton team who drew with Sunderland on Saturday, enjoying some success. Back both teams to score and West Brom to win at [3.5].
