Both Foxes and Wolves will draw blood
Back both teams to score @ 1.9420/21 in Leicester v Wolves
Leicester's home duel with Wolves is, for me, one of the games of the opening weekend.
These rivals are both fancied for decent seasons, potentially even upsetting the Big Six's dominance of the European positions and both will be dying to start the season with a statement win.
The Foxes are fully loaded with attacking talent and I certainly expect Jamie Vardy, Aoyze Perez and the rest to start hit the ground running this season. While the Wolves' backline was a major part of their high finish in 2018-19 I expect the home frontline to get a few decent chances to score here.
At the other end of the pitch Wolves boast an exciting attack of their own, and a Leicester defence shorn of their rock - the £80m man Harry Maguire - should offer up an opportunity or two for Raul Jimenez and the rest.
Put it all together and 1.9420/21 on both teams scoring will do me for the opening gambit of my Battle defence.

Liverpool can get this season off to a strong start
Back Liverpool to Win and Over 3.5 Goals @ 11/10
I can't believe we're back here already. Unfortunately, I won't go start as big or as bold as I did at the end of last season, mainly because I'm still unconvinced by the closer match-ups of teams. One thing you can count on, however, is how strong Liverpool have remained from last season.
With two out of the three Golden Boot winners certain to start in Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah (hello fantasy captain), they're almost certain to lay down the law to these Premier League newbies, who I think will struggle in the long wrong. So I'm backing Liverpool with a big enough scoreline/goals to show why they will want to be talked about as title challengers this year. Back them to win and over 3.5 goals.

Blues can upset the odds
Back Chelsea to beat Man Utd @ 3.65
The standout fixture of the opening weekend sees new Chelsea boss Frank Lampard taking his team to Old Trafford, hoping to lay down an early marker in what is likely to be a close run battle for the top four.
It has been an enforced quiet summer for the Blues due to the transfer ban but Christian Pulisic looks to be a good addition and the likes of Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount could well thrive with more opportunities.
The hosts have had a decent summer, adding Harry Maguire to the ranks and shifting an unhappy Romelu Lukaku but they look a bit short to me here at around the 2.35/4 mark with question marks remaining over Paul Pogba's future and Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer's tactical nous.
I actually expect United to outperform Chelsea over the course of the season but they are more closely matched that the odds suggest here and I'll take a punt on Lampard's troops coming away with all three points at a chunky 3.65.

Back Bournemouth to win @ 2.06
It's been a long wait, and unlike Jasmine, I can wait one more day to find a good bet in the Premier League this weekend. I'm taking a trip to the south coast, and to the Vitality Stadium, where Bournemouth host newly promoted Sheffield United.
I was very impressed with Bournemouth last season, and according to expected goals, they were unfortunate not to finish in the top half last term. Their attacking process was fantastic, and players like Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser, Josh King and David Brooks are all still with the Cherries, and even though Brooks is injured, Eddie Howe can call on the services of loanee Harry Wilson to fill that void. A menacing front four, with the compact Philip Billing and Jefferson Lerma providing protection for a much stronger looking defensive line - a dangerous team this season.
Sheffield United were mightily impressive last season in the Championship, and deserve respect this season, but they have signed a lot of new players in the transfer window, and it may take time for them to settle in. This is a tough opener for Chris Wilder's team, and Infogol rates Bournemouth very highly, which is why the expected goals model is giving the Cherries a huge 60% (equates ot around 4/6) chance of winning on Saturday.
Good value at 2.06, and hopefully off to a winning start in my Betting Battle debut season.
