Christian Crowther has selected three teams from across the continent that he considers worth laying this weekend...
"Crystal Palace managed to arrest a morale-sapping run of four defeats on the spin by claiming seven of the next nine points available to them."
Recommended Bet: Lay Cardiff to beat Crystal Palace @ 2.3611/8
Lay Cardiff to win at Crystal Palace @ 2.3611/8
To their considerable credit, Crystal Palace have awoken from an early season slumber in recent matches, when just for a minute things were looking decidedly grim on the south side of the Thames. Dougie Freedman will be elated that his men managed to arrest a morale-sapping run of four defeats on the spin by claiming seven of the next nine points available to them - including victory over Sheffield Wednseday and a much welcomed win over near neighbours Charlton. Their Welsh visitors are on a nice little run themselves, but have only picked up four points from nine obtainable on the road and may succumb to Palace's renaissance.
Lay Celta Vigo to beat Getafe @ 2.111/10
Newly promoted Celta are understandably struggling in Spain's top division after a five-year exile from La Liga. Celta have lost three of their four Primera clashes so far, with the one ray of light coming in a victory over table-propping Osasuna. Opponents Getafe have only garnered four points themselves, though a closer inspection of their results suggests there is plenty of reason for fans to be positive. A win over one or other of La Liga's colossuses is a collector's item for most and in this case a 2-1 win over the champions Real Madrid proves that Getafe have a bit about them.
Lay Inter to beat Siena @ 1.51/2
Inter's season risks developing into one which will be omitted from any Nerazzurri fans scrapbooks unless their San Siro form turns around sharply. Inter have not won on home soil this season, suffering two defeats and two draws, the latest coming against Rubin Kazan in the Europa League, that could so easily have ended as another one for the loss column. Much has been made of the San Siro's new part-synthetic pitch, which has amazingly failed to facilitate a win for either inhabitant in the 2012/13 season. Perhaps the surface really is cursed or was bought from a Turin-based turfing company.
