Paris St-Germain aren't in great form right now, and Michael Lintorn thinks they are vulnerable in Bulgaria...

Perhaps dominating Ligue 1 wasn't quite as straightforward as Laurent Blanc made it look. The Frenchman was sacked this summer after three titles in three years for failing to get beyond the Champions League quarter-finals, yet successor Unai Emery has lost two of his first seven league games. Blanc was never beaten before December in any of his three campaigns.

A 1-1 home draw with Arsenal in their continental opener was also a reminder that, though Emery has been selected for his European expertise after his excellent achievement in steering Sevilla to three Europa League triumphs in a row, he has done nothing of note in the Champions League.

There is no guarantee that this first away day will be as straightforward for Les Parisiens as the odds project either. Emery's Sevilla lost every trip abroad in last term's group stage, PSG have recorded as many defeats as wins in their last seven group ventures overseas (three) and Ludogorets have been conquered in just one of their three prior matches as hosts in the tournament proper.

Ludogorets broke the deadlock in their previous three Champions League group ties in Bulgaria, against teams with the competition pedigree of Real Madrid, Liverpool and FC Basel, firing within six minutes against the 11 and five-time winners. They also went 1-0 up at FC Basel a fortnight ago.

Paris St-Germain found themselves one down in two of their past four Champions League contests on their travels, as did Emery's Sevilla in two of their three last season.
