Flick boosts Bayern after sacking

It's been a perfect start for Hans-Dieter Flick since he took charge of Bayern Munich and a victory against Crvena Zvezda would see his team win Group B.

Bayern have won each of their three games since sacking Niko Kovac and replacing him with Flick on a temporary basis. Most significantly they thrashed Borussia Dortmund 4-0 at home in the last match before the recent international break. Bayern are currently third in the Bundesliga, only a point behind the leaders Borussia Monchengladbach.

Red Star still have a chance of making the knockout rounds of the Champions League, but realistically they may have to make do with finishing third and dropping down into the Europa League. Two defeats to Spurs have seen Red Star's hopes of making the last-16 reduce, with the 4-0 home defeat in their last outing proving particularly costly.

Crvena Zvezda have tasted success in the Champions League over the past two seasons, thanks to their home form, so it was a surprise to see Tottenham win so easily. Since that loss, Red Star are unbeaten in three (W2 D1), beating Radnicki Nils 2-0 at the weekend to maintain a seven point lead at the top of the Serbian Super Liga.

Big win on cards for Bayern

The Serbs have pulled off some big shocks at home, most noticeably beating Liverpool, the eventual winners of the Champions League last season.

Yet the nature of their heavy defeat to Spurs makes it impossible to back them to do something similar to Bayern, especially with the visitors having rediscovered their form. Backing a large number of goals seems the sensible plan, with over 3.5 goals is available at 2.04. That bet has landed in two of the three games since Flick was appointed.
