Champions League Treble: Plzen to rack up goals again

Plzen beat Zeljeznicar 4-3 in a first-leg thriller

It's second leg time in phase two of qualifying for Europe's top club competition, so Christian Crowther offers up another multiple...

"Bosnian side Zeljeznicar were simply under siege in the first half and owed everything to the heroics of their goalkeeper that the scores were still level going into the break."

Back Molde to lead at half time against Sligo Rovers @ 2.01/1
(Tuesday 18:00)
Molde are looking to navigate their way into the third qualifying round for successive years and have given themselves the perfect platform with a 1-0 away win. That 42nd-minute Daniel Chima strike in the Republic of Ireland proved the difference as the Norwegians pulled off a classic, suffocating performance on the road. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side limited their opponents to just two shots on target and, having scored before the break in five of their last seven matches, can press home the advantage again in the first 45 minutes.

(Tuesday 20:00, Betfair Live Video)
This match-up represented a true qualifying classic in the first leg, as Czech champions Plzen ran out eventual 4-3 winners. Bosnian side Zeljeznicar were simply under siege in the first half and owed everything to the heroics of their goalkeeper that the scores were still level going into the break. Plzen were by far the better side again in the second half but still managed to get pegged back as the first of seven second-half goals rained in. For Plzen though, it was a lesson in finishing from their plucky opponents, who bagged their haul from as many shots, while the hosts required 12 shots on target to notch their tally.

Back both teams to score in Ludogorets v Slovan Bratislava @ 2.01/1
(Wednesday 18:30)
A late penalty from Slovan's Juraj Halenar, the forward's second goal of the game, was enough to give the Hungarians a slender 2-1 advantage as they pay a visit to Bulgaria. This tie is very delicately poised after a closely fought first-leg contest which witnessed plenty of chances at both ends. Each team recorded half a dozen shots on target in a game that contained 28 attempts in total. With neither side likely to settle for what they have, this should produce another open contest.
