Bayern Munich v Besiktas

Tuesday February 20, 19:45 GMT
League Position: Bayern Munich 1, Beskitas 4
Five Game Form (most recent first): Bayern Munich WWWWW, Beskitas DWWDW
Top Scorer: (Bayern Munich) Robert Lewandowski 27, (Beskitas) Anderson Talisca 13
Match Odds: Bayern Munich 1.192/11, Beskitas 21.020/1, Draw 8.88/1
Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Over 1.491/2 Under 2.6813/8
To Qualify: Bayern Munich 1.081/12 Besiktas 11.010/1

Opta Stat: Bayern Munich have reached the Champions League semi-finals in six of the last eight seasons. Meanwhile, this is the first time Besiktas have reached the knockout stages of the competition.

Summary: According to the odds, the biggest mismatch of this week's Champions League fixtures takes Besiktas to the home of the 2013 winners and a meeting with these perennial Champions League contenders. Bayern are in their standard dominating form at home, 19 points clear in the league, and can put their all into having a decent tilt at this comp. They are a fearsome prospect at the Allianz Arena having won all but one of their 15 games there in all competitions. Beskitas' long odds are therefore very understandable. There are crumbs of comfort for anyone supporting the visitors - they won all three of their away games in the competition this season, and manager Senol Gunes has only lost twice in the competition as a manager (from 18 games).

Chelsea v Barcelona

Tuesday February 20, 19:45 GMT
League Position: Chelsea 4, Barcelona 1
Five Game Form (most recent first): Chelsea WWLLW, Barcelona WDWDW
Top Scorer: (Chelsea) Eden Hazard 15, (Barcelona) Lionel Messi 27
Match Odds: Chelsea 3.953/1, Barcelona 2.1211/10, Draw 3.55/2
Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Over 1.8910/11 Under 1.9210/11
To Qualify: Chelsea 3.814/5, Barcelona 1.331/3

Opta Stat: Chelsea are unbeaten in their last seven Champions League games against Barcelona (W2 D5).

Summary: It's another edition of the fifth most played fixture in the competition's history but the first between the two since April 2012. The champions of England, struggling to assert themselves in their domestic league, go into this one as the underdog and there's little surprise in that. Ernesto Valverde has his Barca side clear at the top of the La Liga table and unbeaten in the competition this year, having conceded just once. Interestingly, Lionel Messi is without a goal in 655 minutes of play against Chelsea. He's 2.35/4 to finally break the duck tonight.

Sevilla v Manchester United

Wednesday February 21, 19:45 GMT
League Position: Sevilla 6, Man Utd 2
Five Game Form (most recent first): Sevilla WWWLD, Man Utd WLWLW
Top Scorer: (Sevilla) Wissam Yedder 14, (Man Utd) Romelu Lukaku 21
Match Odds: Sevilla 3.185/40, Man Utd 2.56/4, Draw 3.412/5
Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Over 2.166/5 Under 1.784/5
To Qualify: Sevilla 3.1511/5, Man Utd 1.364/11

Opta Stat: Sevilla conceded 12 goals in this season's six group games, the highest tally amongst the 16 clubs left in the competition.

Summary: Manchester United have been handed a winnable tie against Spanish opposition but there are reasons to be fearful ahead of this first leg. Sevilla's home form in the competition's history is impressive - 13 wins from 18 putting them behind only Real Madrid and Barcelona among teams to have played more than 15 times at home. And there is a strong look to their play at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan this season, too, with just one game lost in all competitions this season. Despite sitting second in the table, United have shown some indifferent form this year and the feeling is that they have not hit peak form yet. An intriguing match awaits.

Shakthar v Roma

Wednesday February 21, 19:45 GMT
League Position: Shakthar 1, Roma 3
Five Game Form (most recent first): Shakthar WLWWW, Roma WWWLD
Top Scorer: (Shakthar) Bernard/Marlos 6, (Roma) Edin Dzeko 14
Match Odds: Shakthar 2.568/5, Roma 3.185/40, Draw 3.412/5
Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Over 2.111/10 Under 1.865/6
To Qualify: Shakthar 2.6613/8, Roma 1.564/7

Opta Stat: Shakhtar Donetsk have won three of their four competitive games against Roma (L1), all in the Champions League.

Summary: The Match Odds market expects this first-leg tie to be one of the closest matches of the week with favouritism, courtesy of having home advantage, just going to the Ukrainian side. Perhaps we shouldn't read too much into Shakhtar's 2-1 victory over a Manchester City side that had already qualified on Matchday 6 but the win underlined their strong home form and they go into Wednesday night's game on the back of a 5-0 win in the Ukranian League. Roma moved up to third in Serie A with a 2-0 win at Udinese at the weekend but it remains to be seen how much they'll be affected by losing their last three Champions League matches against Shakhtar, including both the home and away legs at this exact stage of the competition in 2011.
