As if Paris St Germain hadn't given themselves enough to do in the Champions League after a 3-1 first leg defeat to Real Madrid, it looks like we have to salvage the tie without Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
PSG's £200m summer signing from Barcelona reportedly suffered a fractured metatarsal and sprained ankle in Sunday's Ligue 1 defeat of Marseille. And Mbappe, on loan from Monaco with a view to a £160m summer transfer, had to leave the pitch at halftime in last night's Coupe de France win, again over Marseille. The 19-year-old took a knock to his ankle and a cut to his foot.
PSG still have goals without the pair
The mega-money pair are responsible for 42 goals in all competitions this season, the Brazilian scoring 27 of that total including six in the Champions League. The attacking burden will fall on Edinson Cavani, the club's leading scorer on 31 goals, and Angel di Maria, who netted twice against Marseille in the cup to take his season total to nine.
PSG, once the Champions League favourites and backed as low as 4.57/2 to win the competition, now stand at 14.5 in the same market where City are the 4.77/2 favourites with 6.05/1 Barcelona, 6.25/1 Bayern Munich ahead of 6.86/1 Real. The French side are 4.216/5 to make it past Real, either in 90 or 120 minutes, the Spanish side can be backed at 1.330/100. The pair meet at the Parc des Princes next Tuesday (March 6) on the resumption of the last 16 ties.
Easy nights for Liverpool and City, but tricky for Spurs
Liverpool and Porto also play on the same night, the Premier League side untouchable in the tie after a 5-0 victory in the first leg. It's a similar story the following night for City, who thumped Basel 4-0, but Spurs have a trickier test on their hands.
The London side were facing obliteration two weeks ago having gone down 2-0 in the first 10 minutes at Juventus, but put on a fine comeback to draw the match 2-2. Mauricio Pochettino's side hold the whip hand and can be backed at 1.4640/85 to progress but know that the tie could go either way. Spurs quali >>> 137917475
