It's the battle of Britain in Glasgow as Man City travel north to Scotland and Paul Robinson expects the English side to come out on top in a high-scoring affair...

Celtic

Things didn't start too well for Brendan Rodgers as his first competitive game in charge of Celtic saw them lose 1-0 to Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar. The former Liverpool manager rode that storm though and not only have they made it through to the group phase of the Champions League, they have also looked a cut above in the SPL.

The main thing that Rodgers has brought to the table is goals as his side have netted 23 in six domestic league games. The knock on effect to that has been that their defending has got worse, as they have conceded eight times already.

In their first Champions League group game they shipped seven at Barcelona and while that can be forgiven, it highlights the difference in how the team approaches matches under the new regime compared to say that of Neil Lennon's side a few years ago.

Man City

It's been a perfect campaign for Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City side thus far as it's 10 wins from 10 in all competitions. They have also been scoring plenty of goals themselves as the 10 outings have seen them hit the net on 30 occasions.

City opened up in Group C with a 4-0 thrashing of Borussia M'Gladbach at the Etihad, as Sergio Aguero helped himself to a hat trick. The Argentine striker has 11 goals in seven appearances for the club this term and it could have been more as he's also missed two penalties.

Kevin De Bruyne stepped up to the mark while Aguero was suspended and while it is a blow that he picked up an injury at the weekend, I wouldn't be overly concerned as Guardiola has an embarrassment of riches to choose from in the attacking third.

Match Odds

Celtic 10.09/1 Man City 1.374/11 The Draw 5.79/2

No surprises in this market with the visitors being the heavy favourites. I was half tempted to put up a small bet of Celtic at those odds but the more I thought about it, the more I couldn't see them winning.

I have a feeling that the Citizens could well tear apart the Celtic defence, especially if they get off to a good start. Therefore this is a no play market for me as I'd prefer to invest my money elsewhere.

Over/Under 2.5 Goals

Over 2.5 Goals 1.558/15 Under 2.5 Goals 2.767/4

If this game doesn't produce at least three goals, I would be very surprised. Both of these teams have been successful this year because of how many they're scoring and I don't think either defence is as strong as it should be.

Given the cramped price of over 2.5 though, I'm much keener on going for one extra at nearly a full point bigger. Over 3.5 is trading at around the 2.47/5 mark and rates much the better value for me.

It would have landed in six of City's 10 games and eight of Celtic's last 11 in all competitions.

Correct Score

I can definitely see both teams getting on the scoresheet and that opens up plenty of opportunities in the correct score market given how heavy favourites City are to win.

The score that stands out to me is 1-3 and that is available to back at 12.011/1. It's the same scoreline that the Citizens beat Swansea by at the weekend and it is bigger than 1-2 or 'Any other away win'.
