The goals go in and the Total Goals Guys cash in...

In terms of performance it was the best weekend of the season for us but when your balance is at £13.23 before a goal is scored, even a 50% yield returns just under £20.

Celtic got things going for us at Parkhead on Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Hearts. Jan Venegoor of Hesselink got things going early with a 14th minute toe poke that sent the hosts in at half time with a 1-0 lead. Pint-sized Scott MacDonald scored yet another header shortly after the break and our investment was safe by the 74th minute when recent recruit Andreas Hinkel fired high into the roof of the net from a tight angle.

3 goals or more was also our pick in Real Madrid's visit to Real Betis that evening. [2.02] could have been looked at as being a bit risky but the matter was settled a full 10 minutes before the half time interval. Drenthe's 6th minute opener for the visitors looked like setting Real on their way to another victory but Betis had other ideas and two goals in 4 minutes from Edu (32) and Gonzalez (35) gave the hosts a 2-1 half time lead. Real Betis held onto this lead for the entire second period thus condemning the league leaders to their second successive away defeat.

As expected, it was a low scoring encounter at Rugby Park on Sunday where Rangers re-opened a 4 point gap on Celtic with a 2-0 win over Kilmarnock. Carlos Cuellar's header mid-way through the first half was followed up by Kris Boyd's penalty mid-way through the second period. The striker has received a lot of criticism with regards to his work rate but the goal was his 9th in 9 games against his former employers. We layed 4 goals or more at [2.95] with a maximum exposure of 20% of our balance and that resulted in a 50% profit in our return.

Bayern Munich sealed the perfect weekend with a resounding 3-0 win at Hannover 96. It wasn't all plain sailing however and with the score locked at 0-0 after 57 minutes, the in-play price for 2 goals or more would have been at least 5 or 6 times more profitable than our pre kick-off back at [1.26]. We suggested however that in Toni and Klose there is always a goal or two in this side and that proved to be the case as Toni struck twice in 7 minutes, first on 58' before going on to clinch a hat-trick 8 minutes from time.

It doesn't happen like this every weekend but it is definitely what we needed if not deserved. There should be a full card to choose from next week and we will need to be on our guard for the now legendary Champions League hangover.
