The Total Goals Guys are thankful for plenty of goals at St Andrews, St James Park and Anfield...
Going for 3 goals or more on all four selections was the boldest move of the season yet. It paid dividends however and the balance took another giant step in the right direction, up 39% to £27.51 and amazingly that's a 108% yield over the last two weekends.
It was an entertaining start to the proceedings for us at St Andrews. James McFadden's dead ball expertise broke the deadlock on the half hour mark and that's exactly what you want to see as a 3 goals or more backer because you know Arsenal will go for the win and in turn that will probably provide Birmingham with the odd chance on the counter. Theo Walcott's first and second Premier League goals for Arsenal inside the first 10 minutes of the restart made light work of the [2.02] we snapped up. Arsenal could and should have sealed the victory long before McFadden's equaliser from the spot in the 5th minute of injury time.
Steven Gerrard has been the King of Anfield for god knows how long but where would Liverpool be this season if it wasn't for Fernando Torres? Again the underdog went ahead in this one as Tuncay gave the visitors the lead with a close range header inside the first 10 minutes. As the half hour mark approached Torres bagged a brace that put Liverpool back in front, sent himself en route to hat-trick in the 3-2 win and sealed our 3 goals or more back at [2.01] - what a guy!
Despite remaining top of the table it can definitely be said that Aresnal are toiling. Manchester United however look stronger by the week and rubber stamped their own title credentials with an emphatic 5-1 victory at St. James Park. [1.9] for 3 goals or more was a steal as Rooney and Ronaldo ripped King Kev's sorry Newcastle to shreds. Portuguese wing wizard Ronaldo found Rooney at the back post for the opener after twenty five minutes before bagging a double on 45' and 56'. That was 3 picks in a row where 3 goals or more was done and dusted within 60 minutes of play - almost too easy . . .
The good fortune had to run out somewhere however and it wasn't only our luck that ran out at The Bernabeau on Sunday night, it was also the home form of Real Madrid (previously 100%) that capitulated. Getafe claimed a shock 1-0 victory in the local grudge match and both the hosts, and ourselves unfortunately, were on one of those runs that comes to an end at some point.
The home side never clicked all evening and any game that hits the interval locked at 0-0 doesn't look likely to turn in a profit for overs backers. This proved to be the case however and with little more than half an hour remaining Raul & Co celebrated an offside goal and half the Real side could only look on in horror as Getafe scored on the break. Instead of taking their place for the restart 1-0 up, they took those places 1-0 down! The hosts looked tired of ideas as they chased an equaliser and everyone bar Getafe will be putting it down to just one of those games.
