QPR to beat Premier duo to young star?

They are looking like a top-flight club in waiting despite their recent stumbles - and a rumour in one of today's paper suggests that QPR are about to test their pulling power by going head-to-head with two Premier League clubs in a chase for one of League One's brightest young stars.

The Daily Mail report that Hoops manager Neil Warnock is weighing up a move for Swindon Town's 19-year-old central defender Sean Morrison in the January transfer window - but that he may have to beat off interest from both Sunderland and Newcastle.

Morrison joined the Robins in 2007 from Plymouth Argyle, and has made 48 first-team appearances at the County Ground as well as gaining experience during a loan spell at Southend United.

Despite being unbeaten and top of the Championship, Rangers are clearly not resting on their laurels - last week they were linked with a move for Arsenal's Jay Emmanuel-Thomas.
