QPR still chasing Blackburn's Roberts
There's plenty going on in the Championship, with Neil Warnock persuing a Premier League striker, Aidy Boothroyd mulling over a trialist, Middlesbrough getting a new defender - who isn't even Scottish! - and there is finally some good news for Portsmouth...
- QPR boss Neil Warnock had admitted he's "gutted" to miss out on striker Jonathan Walters - but is now trying to get Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts in on loan for the rest of the season.
- Coventry City boss Aidy Boothroyd still needs convincing that trialist Francis Laurent deserves a contract, according to Sky Sports News. The 24-year-old has been training with Coventry since his deal with Southend was cancelled last month.
- Crystal Palace have snapped up England at Under-19 goalkeeper Wesley Foderingham. The 19-year-old has signed a two year deal and will be heading to Bromley on loan immediately.
- Sunderland defender Matthew Kilgallon has joined Middlesbrough on loan until the end of the season. The 26-year-old was capped five times for England under-20's and spent five years at Leeds United.
- Portsmouth striker Tommy Smith has told the club he is happy to stay on the south coast, despite interest from Scottish champions Rangers.
