QPR linked with another ex-Chelsea boss
It doesn't matter how many people in power at Loftus Road promise that Neil Warnock will remain in charge for QPR's Premier League adventure, indeed every relative of every member of the board could probably pledge their allegiance to him and the rumours of a replacement would still persist.
The latest wicked whisper comes courtesy of the Daily Mirror, who claim that Carlo Ancelotti has been sounded out about the possibility of taking charge of the Hoops, hoping that the prospect of continued employment in west London days after his Chelsea dismissal will prove too good to resist.
The Mirror suggest that Warnock's position at the club, which is already perceived by the media to be pretty weak judging by the number of stories about him being axed despite ending their 15-year top-flight exodus, has been hurt by the resignation of vice-chairman Amit Bhatia.
The son-in-law of Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal is described as the manager's main ally but he has stepped down having failed to negotiate a takeover for the Mittal family but primarily in protest at the decision to sack chairman Ishan Saksena and drastically increase season ticket prices.
Bhatia was desperate not to be associated with either of those controversial moves and appeared to have concerns with the general direction that QPR are heading in off the field, indicating that the speculation about Warnock being sent packing may not be as ridiculous as they sound.
Flavio Briatore is the figure reported to be responsible for the alleged approach for Ancelotti, and it is also believed that the Italian former Formula One team principal was behind their apparent interest in another ex-Blues boss in Claudio Ranieri.
Think they'll make a flying start on their Premier League return? QPR are a [640.0] back-to-lay proposition in the betting...
