QPR and Forest to keep up winning ways
Billy Davies didn't have the most successful of summers in the transfer market, and he looked to be suffering the consequences with his side's early season form. But their second win in the league at the weekend means they are up to 11th and looking good once more...
Nottingham Forest v Sheffield United
Forest looked pretty impressive in their 3-1 win against Swansea City at the weekend. A brace from Lewis McGugan helped extend Forest's unbeaten run at home in the Championship (excluding their play-off defeat to Blackpool) to 23 games. The Blades have only won two of their last 17 on the road, and have scored just once in their previous four away games. Back the home win at [1.94].
Portsmouth v Bristol City
Pompey's incredible couple of season's got even stranger at the weekend after they stuffed Leicester City 6-1 to bag their first win of the season. New signings Liam Lawrence and Dave Kitson bagged a brace each to show that relegation for Portsmouth is far from a certainty. With only one away win in their last seven, City will need their home form to keep them afloat this season. We like the look of a second win in a week for Portsmouth at [1.99].
QPR v Millwall
Seven wins from eight games means that QPR are already six points clear at the top of the Championship table. They had another convincing win against Doncaster at the weekend, and face a Millwall side who are without a win in five games. Back QPR - who haven't even conceded a goal at home this season - at [1.72].
Reading v Ipswich Town
It's been a brilliant start to the season for Roy Keane's Ipswich. They are currently fourth in the Championship after impressive wins against Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace and Cardiff already this season. Their momentum has been stopped somewhat by two draws in their last two away games, and we reckon they'll get another one tonight. They are [3.5] to draw against a Reading side who have won their last two games
Scunthorpe v Barnsley
After eight games only one point separates these two sides, and everything is pointing to a close game. Scunthorpe haven't lost against the Tykes in their last five meetings, but have been in pretty erratic form this season, only winning one of their last four games. Barnsley haven't won on the road in 11 attempts, and lost 3-0 against Reading at the weekend. Scunny should come out on top at [2.3].
Watford v Swansea City
Swansea City boss Brendan Rogers can expect a hostile reception from the club he walked out on in the summer of 2009. It looks set to be a doubly unhappy return for Rogers as his Swans face a Watford who have won their last two games convincingly - 6-1 and 3-1 against Millwall and Middlesbrough respectively. With the Swans losing all their away games so far this term, back a home win at [1.94].
