Two players in and one out at Portsmouth
There's still plenty of transfer business to be carried out in the Championship before the window is closed next Tuesday, with Portsmouth, Leicester, Leeds and Derby all expected to add to their squads...
- It's another busy day at Portsmouth. New captain Marc Wilson looks likely to join Stoke but it's not all bad news for the south coast club as it's thought that they will take striker Dave Kitson and winger Liam Lawrence, who was close to joining Celtic earlier this summer, as part of the deal.
- Former owner Milan Mandaric has also been quoted saying that he would "always be interested in going back" to Fratton Park. The Serbian is in the process of selling Leicester City to a Thai consortium, who are happy for him to stay on, though he has suggested that it's not a certainty that he will.
- The Foxes have taken young Dutch left back Randel Shakison on a ten-day trial, with boss Paulo Sousa keen to give the former Ajax academy player a chance after he was spotted by his scouts.
- Calum Davenport may be on trial at Leeds United but the Whites won't be offering him a contract any time soon, according to Simon Grayson. After a year on the sidelines, the defender is a long way from fitness, yet Grayson said: "If everything goes well then I think we've got a player on our hands who can get back to the level he was at with a top club like West Ham."
- Derby manager Nigel Clough has admitted that he has been tracking Notts County midfielder and former Betting@Betfair columnist Ben Davies. The former Shrewsbury man was named in the PFA's League Two Team of the Year.
