Day 46: We're backing Norwich to beat Crystal Palace at [1.71]

We were perhaps the only people in the world to have enjoyed yesterday's goalless draw between Blackburn and Sunderland, having bet that the Ewood Park clash would end level, and our attempts to build on our profit take us to Carrow Road this evening, where Norwich host Crystal Palace.

The Eagles are yet to score an away league goal under George Burley (an interesting subplot is that it may be a collision between Scotland managers past and future) despite having had seven-and-a-half hours to do so, and they are winless in five games, during which they've netted just once.

The south Londoners took an encouraging point in Cardiff on their last away day but the momentum gained there was swiftly squandered with successive home derby defeats against QPR and Millwall in fixtures they should have had plenty of motivation for, against their former manager and biggest rivals in the division.

Norwich, on the other hand, are on a huge high right now after delivering in arguably their toughest test since returning to the Championship, holding runaway leaders QPR at Loftus Road, while they've won four of their five matches in East Anglia since their shock opening day loss to Norwich.

[1.71] looks an incredible price for the Canaries to overcome the league's worst travellers and with the top two both facing tricky midweek challenges, we're confident they will triumph.

Our bet: We're backing Norwich to beat Crystal Palace at [1.71], meaning that - before factoring in commission - we stand to win £7.10. The same punt pays only £6.15 with Ladbrokes and William Hill. Sign up for a new account now and have losing bets up to a total of £30 refunded for a week.
