Millwall eager to snap up Bolton midfielder
What's going on in the Football League today? Well, Kenny Jackett is reportedly keen on taking Bolton youngster Danny Ward on loan, Glenn Loovens isn't interested in a return to Cardiff and there's a rare Leeds United striker rumour...
- Owen Coyle reportedly plans on loaning midfielder Danny Ward out to a Championship club this season after his impressive spell at Swindon last term, and Millwall and Coventry are thought to be fighting at the front of the queue.
- Most rumours involving Leeds signing strikers have turned out to be duds this summer but here's one that looks like it's actually happening - the Whites have agreed a fee with Cardiff for striker Ross McCormack, whose prospects of starting regularly were hurt by the arrival of Craig Bellamy.
- Cardiff's chances of completing their second ambitious transfer of the month by bringing back former defender Glenn Loovens from Celtic have been dismissed by the Dutchman's agent Roger Linse, who said: "Glenn is happy at Celtic and is under contract there. He doesn't want to leave."
- South Wales rivals Swansea are close to making a further addition to their squad though, with Brendan Rodgers confident of capturing Arsenal midfielder Henri Lansbury on loan. West Ham striker Frank Nouble, who Rodgers worked with at Chelsea, could also join on a short-term basis.
- The Swans' Carling Cup second round opponents Tranmere have taken Northern Irish striker Sam Morrow on trial, but are yet to make an offer to the former Hibernian forward's current club Coleraine.
