Mowbray's Middlesbrough to beat Millwall
All three Football League divisions are terrifically tight - ten points separate fourth from 23rd in the Championship, the same divides third and 21st in League One and there are five between the top six in League Two. It's brilliant from a betting perspective as it minimises the number of clear favourites. Here are five wagers we like the look of this weekend...
Middlesbrough v Millwall
Our long-standing faith in Tony Mowbray was tested by his terrible time at Celtic but he's made a promising start at Middlesbrough, delivering successive victories before a narrow loss to Swansea. Millwall's play-off push has faltered badly and the Lions have picked up just one point in four games.
Recommended Bet: Back Middlesbrough to win at [2.04]
Norwich v Leeds
Both of the teams automatically promoted from League One last season are already featuring in the Championship's play-off picture but Norwich's form has tailed off of late, with their only win in seven coming against Middlesbrough. Leeds have earned more points away than they have at Elland Road.
Recommended Bet: Lay Norwich to win at [2.32]
Colchester v Hartlepool
The Monkey Hangers achieved their best result of the campaign against Brighton last week and face Colchester, who have only been beaten twice. The Essex club have been involved in some high-scoring encounters recently, though Hartlepool's seven away games have produced seven goals.
Recommended Bet: Back under 2.5 goals at [1.96]
MK Dons v Sheffield Wednesday
The Dons were knocked out of a cup at home for the second time this season in midweek, however their league record in front of their fans is impressive, enjoying six wins and two draws. Their visitors are decent away yet have won just one of eight matches with top-half sides, failing to score in five.
Recommended Bet: Back MK Dons to win at [2.54]
Port Vale v Wycombe
Has there ever been a fixture with as much evidence pointing to a draw? The last four collisions between the clubs at Vale Park have finished 1-1, Port Vale are QPR-ing up their title bid with a run of five draws in six and Wycombe have tied more times than everyone in the division bar two teams.
Recommended Bet: Back the draw at [3.35]
