The forum's verdict on Leicester and Sven

Few managers divide opinions in the UK as much as Sven-Goran Eriksson, and so when someone on the Betfair football forum mused that his spell as Leicester boss has been a failure because they look set to miss out on the play-offs, it was no surprise that it prompted a lively debate...

"So Sven-Goran Eriksson fails yet again. Of course he will get a massive pay-off just like he did when an abysmal failure with England, Mexico and Ivory Coast. I've estimated in pay-offs alone it now totals £20 million. How the f*** does he continue to create the illusion that he's a good manager?" - Desert Pilot

"Sven won a Coppa Italia with Roma and the league with Lazio. I'm a Leicester fan and think he's doing an okay job. He hasn't been here since the start of the season and the reason we sacked Paulo Sousa after nine games is that we were bottom of the league. I think after a close season where he can bring in a few of his own players, we will be among the favourites next year. I'd be amazed if we gave him the boot." - ooo barbara

"I feel sorry for Leicester fans because it's clear Sven has managed to convince them he's doing a good job. There are four clubs above Leicester with fewer resources who are doing a better job. If you cannot see that this man is obsessed with money then you've got a problem. An English manager would never, ever get the opportunities he gets." - Desert Pilot

"Sven did a great job at Manchester City. He took a woeful team, brought in a few last-minute signings and had them finishing eighth, all whilst having the second half of the season fatally undermined by a chairman who remains the biggest t***** ever to be associated with the club (and English football in my opinion). Oh, and he beat them lot (Manchester United) twice too." - Live Forever

"Sven is the second most successful manager of England. He didn't take a penny when he left Notts County. Has too much class for the English game. I would have him back as England manager tomorrow. Harry Redknapp (wide boy) and Sam Allardyce (I'm a champion of new technology, but I'll still just huff it forward and tell 'em to give 110 per cent), couldn't hold a candle to Eriksson." - WHOKNOWSTHEBOWLER

What people are forgetting to notice is that Leicester were 10 games into the season and rock bottom of the Championship when Sven took charge. I'm a Leicester fan and i for one am glad he's with us.

Our season went wrong at the beginning under Paulo, NOT at the end under Sven.
