Leeds to exorcise demons at Doncaster

Doncaster are unbeaten at home this season, and while Leeds were being torn apart by Barnsley in the latter stages of their match on Tuesday, the Rovers were putting in-form Norwich in their place at the Keepmoat Stadium, all of which suggests that they should do the same to Leeds at [2.34].

Our hunch is that Friday night's televised clash won't obey the form guide though and that the fourth-placed hosts will be denied three points that would allow them to climb up to second in the Championship for - according to our calculations - the first time since January 1954.

Sean O'Driscoll's achievements so far in his managerial career indicate that he will eventually end up in the Premier League, however his Donny side do have an odd tendency to fail to capitalise on momentum.

Their last five victories were all followed by draws or losses, while Leeds' ability to react strongly to setbacks doesn't bode well either. The Whites have responded to their last four defeats by winning their next game.

There are two other reasons to fancy the visitors to take something from this Yorkshire derby, one being that they are unbeaten on five trips south to Doncaster. More significantly, perhaps, they are seeking revenge for the Wembley loss in 2008 that sentenced them to two more years in League One.

Therefore, our recommendations are to back the draw at [3.5] and, as this is historically a fixture with few goals, a correct score of 1-1 at [7.2]. Under 2.5 goals is offered at [1.93].
