Leeds United set for Barnsley battle

The Champions League may be starting tonight, but don't forget, there's plenty of cracking action taking place in the Championship. After a barren spell last week, we're being treated to a full fixture list tonight, so here's our first preview of today's action...

Barnsley v Leeds United
After their disappointing opening day defeat against Derby County, Leeds United have gone on a four game unbeaten run, and saw off Swansea City 2-1 at Elland Road on Saturday. However, Barnsley have been very decent at home this season, losing one, winning two and only conceding one goal in the process. There have only been four goals in Leeds' two away games this season, so backing under 2.5 goals at [1.87] is well worth a punt.

Bristol City v Watford
Watford's travelling support have had the best of things so far this season, having seen a win against Norwich on the opening day and a draw against Hull, while they are still searching for their first win at Vicarage Road. Bristol City have conceded three goals in both of their opening two games this season, so back a win for the Hornets at a very tempting [3.85].

Doncaster v Norwich
A couple of late goals gave Norwich a 2-1 win against Barnsley at the weekend. That win made it three wins from four for Paul Lambert's side, after losing their opening game of the season against Watford. However, Donny are unbeaten at home this term and are a very decent footballing side. Lump some cash on the draw at [3.4].

Hull v Derby
The arrival of Shefki Kuqi on loan from Swansea City will have eased the striker worries of Derby boss Nigel Clough, but his misfiring Rams will need more than a forward who is some years past his best to get a win. Derby have only picked up one point since their opening day win - exactly the same start as Hull. Both sides will take a point ([3.45]) and we think that's exactly what will happen.

Ipswich v QPR
This is where Ipswich really start showing what they're made of. After a brilliant start, Roy Keane's men face table-toppers QPR, following a disappointing goalless draw with Portsmouth at the weekend. We can see the rampant QPR making it five wins from six tonight at [3.15].

Leicester v Cardiff

The arrival of Craig Bellamy may have grabbed all the headlines, but it's Cardiff's defence that has been really impressive recently. They haven't conceded a goal in their last three games, and only two all season. Back the Bluebirds to win at [2.96] against a Leicester side who have yet to win in the league this term.
