Crystal Palace close in on Davids signing
Things are starting to get going in the Championship transfer market, and now Crystal Palace are able to join the party after the lifting of their transfer embargo. If they can make half the impression Cardiff have since the lifting of their ban, then there'll be some happy people in south London...
- Crystal Palace have come out of administration - marking the end of their transfer embargo, and hopefully the signing of Edgar Davids. Eagles boss George Burley admits the deal is a little way off, but is hopeful of it coming to fruition. He said: "It is not going to be a financial thing with Edgar, it is a challenge for him and one he is seriously considering."
- Swansea City are believed to be on the verge of signing West Ham striker Frank Nouble on loan. Swans boss Brendan Rogers said: "He's got a lot of potential. He's 6ft 3in, he's quick, he's strong and I think he can score goals at this level so he's one that we're in discussion with and we'll see where it goes."
- Cardiff City have made their second massive signing of the week. Former Celtic left back Lee Naylor has signed for the Bluebirds after training with the Welsh side for several weeks.
- Ipswich Town boss Roy Keane has demanded the club's board get serious about signing new players. He said: "You've got to get the deals done. We've been in talks and more talks and more talks. We've had players lined up 12 weeks ago who wanted to sign for Ipswich and they weren't done."
- Nottingham Forest have held talks with Cardiff winger Peter Whittingham according to the Daily Mail. Forest have been rumoured to be interested in the player for a number of years, and could tempt Cardiff to sell with a new £1.8 Million bid.
Would Davids be a good signing for Crystal Palace? Should Whittingham be allowed to go? Let us know what you think below...
