Marlon King offered Coventry City deal
Aidy Boothroyd looks set to make one of the biggest calls of his career over the next few days. With striker Marlon King out of prison and looking for a club, reports from Coventry suggest the pair - who worked together at Watford - could be reunited...
- He's only been out of prison three weeks and already Marlon King looks to have landed himself a new club. The 30-year-old striker served nine months of an 18-month sentence for sexual assault and has been a source for constant speculation since his release. But now the Coventry Telegraph are reporting the Sky Blues are closing in on a deal. Boss Aidy Boothroyd said: "I totally understand where people are coming from, but all I would say is give him the opportunity, give him some time. I don't think anybody is going to say that Marlon is the perfect person, but I've never met a perfect person - I know I'm certainly not."
- Bristol City have signed Jon Stead from Ipswich Town on a three-year deal. There was speculation Roy Keane was trying to initiate a swap deal with Cardiff for the striker, with Ross McCormack joining him at Portman Road. No such luck, Roy.
- Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies doesn't think his side have the financial clout to land the players he's been targeting all summer. He told the Nottingham Evening Post: "It's clear as day that we need to add depth and quantity, but can we afford the targets we are identifying and can we afford the salaries that these players are on? That is the big question."
- West Bromwich Albion have had another bid for Portsmouth captain Marc Wilson rejected. They upped their initial £2 million bid to £3 million, but it's still not enough to tempt the cash strapped south coast club.
- Paulo Sousa is adamant there will be more signings for Leicester City before the transfer window closes. Speaking to the Leicester Mercury, Sousa said: "[buying new players] is something which will happen but I can't tell you how many signings exactly."

Well if Joey Barton is still allowed to play football then why shouldn't Marlon?
The term role model has gone from football, just make sure you are good enough and you get chance after chance after chance to earn mega money.
