Leicester to stun promotion rivals Cardiff

There are 27 matches taking place in the Football League this evening. We've picked out what we consider the biggest one in each division to preview, each with the potential to have a major impact on the ongoing battles for promotion...

Cardiff v Leicester
We successfully opposed Cardiff at home a week ago when they were held by Burnley and a further stumble is to be expected this evening when they welcome a Leicester side that are absolutely flying, having gone eight league games without defeat, winning seven of them. The Foxes have recorded more away victories in 2011 already than they managed before Christmas and as their hosts have already lost to promotion rivals Swansea and Nottingham Forest in front of their fans, Sven-Goran Eriksson's men are an intriguing prospect at [3.0].

Bournemouth v Sheffield Wednesday
Gary Megson has only been in charge of Sheffield Wednesday for a couple of weeks but given his chairman Milan Mandaric's reputation for chopping and changing and Megson's disastrous start, which has left the Owls 16th and with even the play-offs looking an ambitious target. They've lost seven in a row on the road so a trip to second-placed Bournemouth, who have won 11 times at home already, going six unbeaten at Dean Court. Their odds of [1.88] offer huge appeal

Bradford v Chesterfield
The pre-season League Two title favourites meet the current market leaders at Valley Parade and Chesterfield will be buoyant after ending a run of five matches without a win away to Lincoln at the weekend. That was their sixth travelling triumph of the campaign and a seventh could be on the cards against Peter Taylor's Bradford who, having recovered from a dreadful first few months to climb the table, are back on the way down after six losses in eight. The visitors can be backed at [2.54].
