Burnley to halt Cardiff's promotion charge

The Champions League may be attracting all the headlines but there are also 20 matches taking place in the Football League this evening. We've picked out the tie that intrigues us the most in each division and offered our betting advice...

Cardiff v Burnley
The Bluebirds were far from at their best at the weekend as they required a late winner to see off relegation threatened Scunthorpe at home and that doesn't bode well for the visit of a Burnley side revitalised under Eddie Howe and carrying plenty of momentum after defeating play-off rivals Norwich and Watford. They have lost just two of a dozen against the top 11 teams in the division and that suggests that Cardiff should be laid at [2.08].

MK Dons v Leyton Orient
The other usually impressive hosts that may struggle to meet the standards they usually set are MK Dons in League One as they face Leyton Orient, who are absolutely flying right now having gone ten games without defeat in all competitions since being turned over by leaders Brighton, their only loss in 19. MK Dons are becoming draw specialists with three in four and another here against a team swiftly emerging as play-off rivals is an appealing [3.6].

Bury v Chesterfield
Chesterfield collapsed as the days grew longer last season to eventually even miss out on the play-offs after challenging for automatic promotion, and a similar slump is harming their League Two title hopes this term. Friday night's loss to Burton was their fourth match without a win yet they remain four points clear of Shrewsbury. They haven't lost two in a row so far but that could change at Bury, who have won their last two at home. Back the Shakers at [2.26].
