Bothroyd helps fire Cardiff level with QPR

FA Cup and Championship play-off final disappointment in recent years suggest that Cardiff aren't always a team for the big occasions but that certainly didn't prove the case at Elland Road last night as they absolutely ripped Leeds apart 4-0 in front of the TV cameras.

The Bluebirds had known since Friday, when leaders QPR again tripped up away at Bristol City, that three points in west Yorkshire would push them alongside the Hoops at the top of the table and victory never looked in doubt as they led after 22 minutes and killed the game off by the hour mark.

Dave Jones' men are still behind the west Londoners on goal difference despite both having netted 25 times in 13 matches, however the Welsh club have taken 12 points to QPR's six this month and - in our view - have the stronger side, so look a better bet at [3.0] than the table-toppers do at [2.88].

The favourites' current run of one win in five is undeniably a consequence of top goalscorer Jamie Mackie's six-game goal drought. Cardiff have no problems on that front after chief Championship goal-getter Jay Bothroyd struck twice against Leeds. The Arsenal trainee has netted nine times in the league yet is a tasty [7.0] to finish the campaign as top goalscorer.

Cardiff appear far better poised than QPR to deal with any inevitable dry patches their main goal threat endures, with last season's scoring chart topper Peter Whittingham, Michael Chopra and Craig Bellamy all capable of chipping in.

Will the Bluebirds continue to soar? They are [1.81] to beat Norwich on Saturday...
