Bellamy ponders permanent Cardiff stay
It's the final Friday of the summer transfer window but several Championship sides already have one eye on the loan market. Here's the pick of this morning's rumours...
- Craig Bellamy has hinted that he plans on spending the rest of his career with Cardiff provided they win promotion to the Premier League this season. He said: "If we are successful as a team and I'm successful it gives me a much stronger chance of being here for the rest of my career, I'd love to stay."
- A busy few days await Coventry as they will find out whether Bolton youngster Danny Ward wishes to join them on loan, with Leeds considered favourites to capture the 18-year-old. Aidy Boothroyd is close to signing Marlon King and has urged goalkeeper Keiren Westwood to extend his contract.
- They've scored nine goals in their opening three league games but QPR still intend to strengthen up front, with a short-term move for out-of-favour Fulham striker Eddie Johnson the latest possibility put forward. Jason Roberts and Dave Kitson have both been linked, though wages are thought to be an issue.
- But while some clubs are looking to rush through deals, two recently relegated sides have indicated that their summer work is complete. Burnley boss Brian Laws doesn't expect any more permanent arrivals and the Hull Daily Mail claims that Hull have adopted the same stance.
