The Betfair Football £10 Bet of the Day
Day 114: We're laying Juventus at home to Roma at [2.32]
The fixture list hasn't been too kind for us today as we attempt to pick a fifth successive winner, as pretty much the only matches taking place tonight are all in domestic cup competitions in Europe.
As a result, we're returning to the strategy that provided a profit last night as Inverness were beaten by Aberdeen and opposing a home team by laying Juventus in their Coppa Italia quarter-final clash against Roma at odds of [2.32].
The Giallorossi have reached the final in five of the last six seasons and the only side that has defeated them in the competition over that entire period are holders Inter Milan, and the capital club - who knocked out neighbours Lazio in the last round - are in far better form than Juventus.
Despite barely even playing well, Claudio Ranieri's men have won six of their last seven fixtures, whereas after an encouraging first half of the campaign, Juventus have toiled recently, gathering five points from their last five Serie A encounters, a run not helped by the season-ending injury suffered by top goalscorer Fabio Quagliarella.
Roma are without captain Francesco Totti but don't be alarmed by that. The 34-year-old hasn't been playing well and it also means there is one less high-profile player likely to undermine absurdly criticised coach Ranieri when he decides to sub them off.
The visitors held Juventus in Turin when they last met and eliminated them in their last Coppa Italia collision five years ago and they have frequently delivered away to their rivals under the Tinkerman - a former Bianconeri tactician. We fancy them to progress but will settle for opposing the hosts. The game is live on Betfair Live Video at 7.45pm.
Our bet: We're laying Juventus against Roma at [2.32], meaning that - before factoring in commission - we stand to win £7.57. Sign up for a new account now and have losing bets up to a total of £30 refunded for a week.
