Cash in on Europe's big weekend TV treats
There's rarely a dull weekend in European football, however this weekend promises to be more exciting than most as three tacticians in Italy fight for their futures (at Fiorentina, Roma and Genoa), there are top two-eight encounters in Spain and huge matches in Holland, Germany and France...
Italy
Fiorentina coach Sinisa Mihajlovic probably needs a win over out-of-sorts Bari on Saturday to save his job and our hunch is that he'll get it at [1.79]. Another boss who must oversee an improvement is Claudio Ranieri at Roma. The Giallorossi always beat Parma so are [2.56], but if they lose, the axe awaits the Tinkerman. Leaders Lazio are live on Betfair and [1.77] to defeat draw specialists Cagliari, while Inter are [4.2] to be held by the only team they didn't score against last season, Sampdoria.
Fiorentina v Bari, ESPN & Betfair Live Video, Saturday, 7.45pm
Parma v Roma, ESPN & Betfair Live Video, Sunday, 11.30am
Lazio v Cagliari, Betfair Live Video, Sunday, 2pm
Inter Milan v Sampdoria, ESPN & Betfair Live Video, Sunday, 7.45pm
Napoli v AC Milan, ESPN & Betfair Live Video, Monday, 7.45pm
Spain
Barcelona and Real Madrid are justifiably short at [1.26] and [1.14] respectively against bottom-five sides Real Zaragoza and Racing Santander, but Saturday's other televised clash should be tighter, with Valencia understandably [1.57] favourites given Mallorca's away record, yet under 2.5 goals our preferred punt at [2.12]. Sunday's all-top eight ties look like the weekend's most intriguing and a Sevilla-rreal home win double pays £30.30 for a tenner stake if placed using the Betfair Coupon.
Real Zaragoza v Barcelona, Sky Sports 4, Saturday, 5pm
Real Madrid v Racing Santander, Sky Sports 4, Saturday, 7pm
Valencia v Real Mallorca, Sky Sports 4, Saturday, 9pm
Sevilla v Athletic Bilbao, Sky Sports 1, Sunday, 6pm
Villarreal v Atletico Madrid, Sky Sports 1, Sunday, 8pm
Best of the rest
Eredivisie leaders PSV are strong [1.37] favourites in Holland's biggest game this week, though we fancy their struggling visitors to go down with a fight, making Feyenoord +1.5 at [1.9] an attractive Asian Handicap bet. It's Grand Slam Sunday in Germany as the top four collide and while Leverkusen are in form, they have to be a lay at [1.89] as Mainz bid to respond to their first setback. It's sixth versus fourth in Ligue 1 as Lille host Marseille and the smart money there is on the draw at [3.25].
PSV v Feyenoord, ESPN & Betfair Live Video, Sunday, 1.30pm
Bayer Leverkusen v Mainz, ESPN, Sunday, 4.30pm
Lille v Marseille, Betfair Live Video, Sunday, 8pm
