Goal-shy Parma to flop against Sampdoria
Sampdoria have responded to the loss of Luigi Del Neri, the coach who guided them to a top-four finish last season, surprisingly well, however despite them opening matchday 11 in sixth place, there remains a sense that things aren't going to plan for the Blucerchiati.
Their Champions League adventure was disappointingly short-lived, as they were handed a difficult play-off draw against Werder Bremen, who levelled the aggregate score in the 93rd minute of the second leg before progressing in extra time.
Of greater long-term significance though is the fact that Antonio Cassano's three-and-a-half year spell at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris appears to be over. The club have continued proceedings to have their star player's contract rescinded despite his apology following a row with president Riccardo Garrone.
Fantantonio's absence hasn't been felt too keenly yet on the pitch, with Sampdoria extending their domestic unbeaten run to seven games with a victory against Cesena and draw against Catania and they'll fancy their chances of triumphing without him away to struggling Parma.
Pasquale Marino's side are without a win since the opening weekend and while they've only actually been defeated four times, and just once at the Stadio Tardini, their toothlessness up front is costing them badly. The Gialloblu have netted once in six matches and that was against promoted Cesena.
Given that visiting coach Domenico Di Carlo built a defence at former team Chievo that leaked less goals on their travels than everyone else in the division besides Inter and AC Milan, and has made Sampdoria similarly difficult to break down, under 2.5 goals is the outstanding bet at [1.65].
Under 1.5 appeals too at [2.92] as Parma's last three home ties have provided a solitary strike. Sampdoria haven't lost away in Serie A under Di Carlo and while the majority of their outings have been drawn, [3.45] on them taking all three points is tough to resist, as is [10.0] on 0-1.
