MOT your multiple - a colossal clash treble

Every week, we pick out what we believe will prove a popular weekend multiple and put it to the test, offering an alternative if we're not convinced that the standout selection is the correct one.

Considering there are three absolutely massive matches pitting two of the top three in the title betting in England, Italy and Germany against one another, that's what we'll be looking at this time.

The higher-placed club are at home in each tie, with Premier League leaders Chelsea hosting Arsenal, Serie A pacesetters Inter Milan welcoming Juventus and high-flying Borussia Dortmund being visited by Bayern Munich, so the obvious treble is to back those three, with a £10 bet providing a £70 profit.

Are they the right choices though? Chelsea can usually be relied upon to torment Arsenal - they've beaten them four times in succession, with Didier Drogba scoring five times - so we'll be sticking with them.

The Derby d'Italia is tougher to call, simply because it's impossible to ascertain which Juventus will turn up - the side that tore through Udinese and unbeaten Cagliari or the one that took a point from home games against Sampdoria and Palermo.

Juventus were the last team to win away at Inter in Serie A, while Luigi Del Neri took four points off the Nerazzurri while managing Sampdoria last season, so our verdict is to lay the champions.

We're also going to go against the favourites in the Bundesliga too, simply because while Borussia Dortmund have won five on the spin, Bayern Munich just can't afford to fall ten points behind the club judged their biggest rivals for top spot. Instead, we're going for the draw in that encounter.

Therefore, our alternative suggestion is to stick your cash on a treble backing Chelsea, opposing Inter and siding with the draw in the massive match in Germany. A £10 punt pays out £118.10, or if you don't want to stake as much, you can win £59.05 for a fiver.
