Inter Milan are keen to snap up Cassano

For the second winter running, it looks like Inter Milan will snap up a star player for one of the division's lesser lights for absolutely nothing.

Lazio were 16th in Serie A in January when Goran Pandev joined the Nerazzurri, having been granted his release in court after being frozen out by president Claudio Lotito, and the champions are reportedly set to be the benefactors of Sampdoria's attempts to get Antonio Cassano's contract terminated following his falling out with their president Riccardo Garrone.

Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport claim that Inter "are ready to welcome Cassano" to the San Siro and finally answer Rafael Benitez's long-standing request to have the treble-winning squad he inherited from Jose Mourinho freshened up.

Inter patron Massimo Moratti has been a long-term admirer of the Sampdoria forward and it is believed that personal terms with "Fantantonio" have already been discussed in anticipation of the possibility that his time at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris will be brought to an end following arbitration.

Would Cassano find a place in the Inter starting line-up or is the 20-time Italy international too much of a gamble for a title-chasing club? Have your say below...
