More Inverness CT heroics to cost Rangers
The weather has again wreaked havoc with this Saturday's SPL schedule, as matches at Celtic and Dundee United have already been postponed and there is talk that more could follow, however here's what we'll be backing provided the other four all go ahead as planned...
Inverness CT v Rangers (12.45pm, Sky Sports 4)
Promoted Inverness were on a four-match unbeaten run that culminated in a fine draw at Parkhead prior to the snow-enforced fortnight-long break - will that have halted their momentum? It's a possibility, while their home record isn't great, but Rangers head to the Caledonian Stadium on the back of two disappointing European results and were held by former captain Terry Butcher's side at Ibrox, so could well blow their chance to move five points clear of Celtic. Consider the draw at [4.3] and Inverness +1 on the Asian Handicap at [1.92].
Hamilton v Hibernian (postponed)
Hibs' stunning 3-0 win away to champions Rangers didn't quite kick-start their season as anticipated, though there is now breathing space between them and their last-placed hosts. Shockingly, they haven't beaten a bottom-half team in six attempts. Neither have Hamilton, so back the draw at [3.4].
Hearts v Aberdeen
The week off presented Aberdeen with the opportunity to put beleaguered boss Mark McGhee out of his misery, yet they haven't appointed a successor despite expectation that it will be Craig Brown, manager of Hearts' rivals for third Motherwell (who has now resigned). Caretaker coaches often spring surprises - see Frank de Boer at Ajax - but with Hearts winning six of their last seven, they have to be fancied at [1.55].
St Mirren v St Johnstone
Both clubs head into this Saints-derby in far from great nick, with Aberdeen and Hamilton's woeful form to thank for keeping them out of immediate relegation trouble. St Johnstone are undefeated in ten meetings with the Buddies and haven't conceded in two games so have the edge at [2.82], while under 2.5 goals appeals at [1.68].
