The Betfair Football £10 Bet of the Day
Day 113: We're laying Inverness at home to Aberdeen at [2.66]
It's a great time to be following our £10 daily wager as over the last 20 days we've made more than £100, with 14 of the suggestions proving successful. Despite being given a scare, last night's flutter on Blackpool +1.5 on the Asian Handicap delivered, leaving us chasing a fourth successive win this evening.
This is a massive day in the SPL. Hearts are now an unprecedentedly short [8.0] to lift the title after their win over Rangers and visit leaders Celtic, while hoping for a favour from city rivals Hibernian against the Gers in a repeat of the fixtures that ended Edinburgh 2-0 Glasgow in November.
The big match at Parkhead is very difficult to call though, so the Scottish game that we've chosen to focus on is the clash between faltering Inverness CT and rapidly improving Aberdeen, in which we're laying the promoted club at odds of [2.66].
Aberdeen suffered their first defeat in six fixtures since Craig Brown's arrival as manager at the weekend but a 1-0 loss to Celtic was no cause for panic, especially as they were humiliated 9-0 on their previous visit in November, and they can be confident of bouncing back against Inverness.
Terry Butcher's overachievers have run out of steam of late, enduring a nine-match streak without victory that started with draws against top-three sides Celtic, Rangers and Hearts yet has gradually seen morale crash, leading to a loss at home to struggling St Mirren and draw with bottom team Hamilton.
Results at the Caledonian Stadium have been disappointing all season, with only two triumphs achieved in 11 games in front of their own fans and while Inverness' recent record against Aberdeen is decent enough, expect Brown to put paid to that.
Our bet: We're laying Inverness CT against Motherwell at [2.66], meaning that - before factoring in commission - we stand to win £6.02. Sign up for a new account now and have losing bets up to a total of £30 refunded for a week.
