Inverness CT to avoid away defeat at Celtic
The SPL are insisting that all of this weekend's matches will go ahead as planned despite the Scottish referees' strike and the Polish officials who were supposed to arrive as cover pulling out. If they are true to their word, that leaves us with six games, including two televised ties, to look forward to...
Celtic v Inverness CT
The Bhoys can ill afford another blip after falling three points behind Rangers with a draw at home to Dundee United, but the lay appeals far more than the Celtic win at [1.28] given Inverness are looking to complete a year without defeat on their league travels and have won their last three games.
Hamilton v St Mirren
This is a fixture that Hamilton traditionally fare well in yet having collected only one point as hosts all season and lost four on the spin, it's hard to make a case for backing them, especially as St Mirren are improving, even finally winning away. Oppose the Accies at [2.24] and consider the draw at [3.5].
Hibernian v St Johnstone
St Johnstone scored their first goal in five matches last week but even that was an own goal, so even a Hibernian side that conceded four times against Inverness in their last outing will fancy their chances of a second clean sheet this season at [3.0]. A far safer bet though is the home win at [2.14].
Kilmarnock v Aberdeen
How many more losses can Mark McGhee survive, now that his Dons have taken just four of the last 36 points available to them? The patience of the Pittodrie board may again be tested as Kilmarnock are in their best form of the campaign at the moment. Killie are a hugely tempting [1.9] to triumph.
Dundee United v Rangers (Sunday, 12pm, ESPN)
The Terrors knocked Rangers out of last year's Scottish Cup on their way to winning the competition, however their recent league record against the champions is dismal, being beaten in five of the last six collisions and leaking 17 goals. Walter Smith's men therefore have to be trusted to make it eight victories out of eight on the road at the surprisingly long price of [1.74].
Motherwell v Hearts (Sunday, 2.15pm, Sky Sports 4)
The two favourites to top the imaginary table that excludes the Old Firm duo (Motherwell are [4.6], Hearts are [2.56]) face off at Fir Park. Motherwell leapfrogged the Jambos with a surprise success in the capital in September and if they deliver by two goals again the same will happen. Hearts have won four in a row away from home though, the last three without conceding, so back them at [2.9].
