Celtic will once again defeat Motherwell
Don't be fooled by the unsurprising sight of Rangers and Celtic getting underway with two wins, it's been an intriguing opening to the new SPL campaign. That should continue this weekend, with these wagers hopefully seeing us into the Bank holiday with plenty of cash...
Aberdeen v Kilmarnock
It's 100 per cent record versus 0 per cent record at Pittodrie and given those circumstances, [1.95] looks a mighty fine price for the home win. The Dons have triumphed on five of the last seven times that they've hosted Kilmarnock, and are yet to concede this season, so should deliver again.
Inverness CT v Hamilton
Hamilton starting with two 4-0 losses took us by surprise after their amazing run at the end of last season but perhaps it shouldn't have, after all they were beaten on their first three 2009-10 outings, shipping ten goals. Promoted Inverness are flying right now and have to be backed at [1.84].
Rangers v St Johnstone
Walter Smith's men have reacted encouragingly to Celtic's summer spending spree, and having gone almost 18 months without a domestic defeat at Ibrox, it looks like being a miserable afternoon for winless St Johnstone. The half-time/full-time Gers victory is therefore the best bet at [1.73].
Motherwell v Celtic (Sunday, 12pm, ESPN)
Both teams need to respond after exiting the Europa League on Thursday and our money is on Neil Lennon, who retains a perfect record as an SPL boss, guiding his side to three points at [1.61], with over 2.5 goals likely at [1.83]. Well were the only top-half club who failed to beat Celtic last term.
St Mirren v Hibernian (Sunday, 2.15pm, Sky Sports 4)
The Buddies only have a point to show for their efforts so far this month but will be targeting their first triumph against Hibernian, who haven't won in Paisley since 1999. Hibs' last three visits have all ended in draws though, so that's probably the smart punt at [3.4], while 1-1 is [6.6].
Hearts v Dundee United
Dundee United appear to be suffering a hangover after enjoying the perfect non-Old Firm campaign, winning the cup and finishing third. Peter Houston's men are awaiting their first taste of success heading into their fifth game of 2010-11. We're siding with unbeaten Hearts however at [2.18].
