Wolverhampton to extend fine home run
One of the greatest mysteries of this season's incredible Premier League relegation battle is how Wolves, despite consistently tripping up the division's top teams and rarely being embarrassed, are somehow still second bottom with just seven games left to play.
They are fourth favourites for the drop despite their precarious position at [2.48], a price that can be attributed to both their fairly favourable run-in and the spirit they have shown so far under Mick McCarthy that ensures that morale never evaporates after a disappointing performance.
One such setback occurred away to Newcastle last week, a 4-1 defeat at St James' Park abruptly ending a four-match unbeaten run, however they have shown an ability to swiftly recover on numerous occasions before and should be fancied to do so once more against Everton at [2.68].
It's an excellent price for a Wolves side that have lost only one of their five home league encounters in 2011 and boast a record as hosts that would see them currently standing in the top half of the table if results away from Molineux were taken out of the equation.
The presence of the Sky Sports cameras for this Saturday lunchtime clash is unlikely to bother the strugglers either as their best displays of the campaign have come when the spotlight has been thrust on them and their chances have been questioned.
The Black Country club have enjoyed victories over five of the six teams above the seventh-placed Toffees, who despite their recent improvement have triumphed in just two of their dozen collisions with relegation-threatened sides.
Another wager to consider is over 2.5 goals at [2.16], a feature in ten of the 15 games played at Molineux this term, especially as Everton have only fired four blanks on their travels all season.
