The in-play guide to Wolves vs Aston Villa

There are three televised Premier League games on Sunday afternoon but the one we've chosen to dedicate this week's in-play preview to is the west midlands derby between Wolves and Aston Villa.

Wolves last beat Aston Villa in 1980, since when they have met 16 times, with the Villans winning a dozen of those, however they must feel closer to getting one over them now than they have in ages after holding them to draws in both of last season's encounter. It's [3.0] that this will be the one.

The standout feature of Wolves seven matches so far in 2010-11 is that both teams have got on the scoresheet in each. That's currently a [1.82] prospect for Sunday's clash at Molineux but better odds are sure to be on offer if only one side or neither have scored midway through the second half.

In four of Mick McCarthy's men's last six outings - including each of the last two - only one club managed to find the net in the opening 73 minutes, yet there was still enough time for the opponents to get in on the act.

A lesson to be taken from Aston Villa games over the last month is that a first-half lead is easily overturned. In three of their last five fixtures, the team who fired first have ended up losing, while in another - last weekend's collision with Bolton - they had to settle for a point after striking early on. There was a goal scored in final ten minutes of both meetings between the sides last term.
