QPR boss still fancied for West Ham job
There were yet more reports on Thursday night and Friday morning about Neil Warnock receiving assurances from the QPR board that they want him in charge for their Premier League but despite that, rumours that he end up dropping down a division to manage West Ham refuse to go away.
It is a baffling situation given the past animosity between Warnock and the Irons following Sheffield United's top-flight relegation in 2006-07 and the fact that even in the unlikely event that he is axed, it would be a surprise if he instantly accepted a Championship job, however the odds are tumbling.
Having at one stage been supported at a massive [32.0] to move from west to east London, the promotion specialist is currently available to back at more than four times as slim a price at [8.0].
Chris Hughton is the man that the majority of punters are expecting to succeed Avram Grant as the club's 14th boss, though he is out to [3.55] as his odds continue to gradually drift despite having been the market leader all week long.
The [9.2] offered on Alex McLeish, hired by David Gold and David Sullivan at Birmingham, indicates that the theory we highlighted on Wednesday that the Carling Cup winner could be a possibility if the Blues are relegated on Sunday and he is subsequently sacked has attracted some attention.
Nobody else is too highly fancied right now beyond that trio, with Cardiff chief Dave Jones ([13.0]) and caretaker appointment Kevin Keen ([16.0]), which suggests that the recruitment process could drag on for longer than the fortnight or so that Gold and Sullivan were targeting.
Would Warnock seriously consider the West Ham post? Have your say below...

Why would Sir Neil want to go to a team that's going to rattle around in a massive stadium that's going to be a quarter full without any decent players as they will all leave (Scotty boy)! Never mind hammers just think Div 1 after next season. Lol
