Have a loss-proof bet on Tottenham's test

Tottenham are overwhelming fancied at [1.33] to maintain their slim hopes of Champions League qualification when they host Blackpool in Saturday's teatime Premier League encounter but don't expect their fans to be quite as confident of three points.

The Lilywhites have triumphed in just one of their seven clashes with the top-flight's four most relegation-threatened clubs and are the only team that Blackpool have managed to beat in their last 15 outings, while Spurs also enter the fixture on a dismal run of one win in 11 in all competitions.

But while those statistics suggest that they are an appealing lay proposition at [1.34], the Seasiders' staggering loss of form heading into the most decisive period of the season can't be ignored.

Gone are the stress-free side that won five away Premier League games in 2010. Instead, they have struggled badly on the road in 2011, the sole point they have gained on their travels coming against equally unimpressive Blackburn, and latest opponents Spurs haven't lost at home since August.

Blackpool have conceded in nine of their last ten away halves, the only 45-minute shutout achieved during that spell coming at Blackburn on the one occasion when they avoided defeat, so Tottenham to score either side of the interval at [1.72] and be ahead at half-time and full-time at [1.88] appeal.

Thanks to our special offer for those opening new Betfair accounts, you can bet up to £25 on this match and have your stake refunded if your punt proves unsuccessful.

If you do consider Ian Holloway's men to be capable of a huge upset, and they did of course win at Anfield and St James' Park during happier times at the start of the season, then new customers can have a risk-free £25 flutter on them instead at the hefty price of [10.5].
