England backed in after Spurs star's injury
What's the worst possible news that Wales manager Gary Speed could have received ahead of Saturday's Euro 2012 qualifier against England? That's right, star man Gareth Bale has been ruled out of the big match at the Millennium Stadium with a hamstring injury.
The BBC are claiming that the Tottenham winger's absence will be confirmed later on Thursday, with the 21-year-old said to have suffered a recurrance of a problem that hindered him before the squad linked up, having already endured a six-week lay-off with a back injury earlier in 2011. He didn't participate in training on Wednesday.
The disastrous development for the hosts has had a massive impact on the betting for the fixture, with Wales drifting out to [9.0] to cause an upset and the Three Lions coming all the way in to [1.43] having previously been backable at [1.48].
