Two targets in Sunderland's striker hunt
With Andy Carroll and Darren Bent both still needing replacement, you can practically guarantee that at least two reasonably expensive strikers will be heading to the north east this summer, and Sunderland are apparently currently considering Demba Ba and Peter Crouch.
The first of those potential signings is the one attracting the most controversy, with West Ham reporting the Black Cats to the Premier League for allegedly making an illegal approach for the Senegal international, who scored seven goals in ten top-flight starts for the relegated Irons.
Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn has responded to the accusations by denying that they have any interest in the former Hoffenheim star, who is widely expected to switch clubs again despite only arriving in east London in January, though a long-term knee injury is likely to prove problematic.
Even if West Ham's concerns over the tapping up of one of their key assets are shown to be misguided, the association may put the Wearsiders off putting in a bid, and The Sun suggest that instead it is Crouch that is the most sought-after addition to Steve Bruce's squad.
They were beaten to the capture of the England forward two years ago by Tottenham but an unremarkable second season at White Hart Lane has put his future in doubt and The Sun believe that Bruce remains keen to bring him to the Stadium of Light.
The stumbling block to any deal however is Spurs chairman Daniel Levy's apparent desire to regain the £10 million fee that he spent to bring the attacker to the capital from Portsmouth, an ambitious target given that he is now a 30-year-old and managed just four Premier League goals this term.
Will some tweaks up front put Spurs in title contention? They are [70.0] on Betfair...

Wouldnt want him AT ALL and even more so if Levy thinks he'll get 10 million for a guy whose not hit the back the net.
