Jordan Henderson will start for England

Fabio Capello has shown that he really isn't messing around with this experimental approach to the friendly against France, confirming that Kieran Gibbs, Jordan Henderson and Andy Carroll will all make their first starts for England at Wembley on Wednesday.

It was widely expected that Carroll would be called up provided that he overcame his groin injury given the absence of Wayne Rooney, Jermain Defoe, Darren Bent and Bobby Zamora, while the news Gibbs' will start is no shock with Ashley Cole injured, however 20-year-old Henderson's selection is the big surprise, hot on the heels of his impressive display at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The Three Lions' price of [2.34] is tempting in the context that they haven't lost any of their 15 home games under Capello and have won 13 of them, although of course allowances should be made for the fact the Italian coach's priority appears to be to learn more about some of his younger players.

Capello also announced that Jack Wilshere, who was in line for his first start too, has been sent home after suffering an injury in training, while Joe Hart and flu-stricken Phil Jagielka are slight doubts.
