Andy's Sunday tips - Sunderland to deliver

It's a Super Sunday for football fans in the north east as Newcastle's trip to West Brom and Sunderland's home game against West Ham are both live on Sky Sports. Here's what top pundit Andy Gray makes of both fixtures...

West Brom v Newcastle

This is likely to be a closely fought affair between two up-and-down outfits. I feared for West Brom but last week's win at Goodison Park was priceless for the Baggies, who were mired in a very bad run before that.

As for the opposition, I've seen quite a lot of Newcastle this season and I have to say I just never know what I'm going to get from them. They've been very good at times but also very poor. The win at West Ham was sensational, but home defeats to Stoke and Blackpool were awful.

These two have been Premier League names for some time and it's easy to forget that both came up in the summer. Of the three promoted teams, I always thought West Brom were the best equipped to stay up and I've not changed my opinion. Roberto Di Matteo is the reason for that. This sensible manager is a real talent and Baggies fans should feel confident that their team is in safe hands.

That said, this game is a funny one and it's tricky to split the two teams. I think both will score and it will finish honours even.

Back the draw at [3.45]
Back the 1-1 draw at [7.2]
Back under 2.5 goals at [2.08]

Sunderland v West Ham

It's amazing what a victory does for a team and West Ham followed up their first win in ages with a famous defeat of Manchester United on Tuesday night. But can they make it three in a row? I don't think so.

Sunderland are not easy opponents. They are very difficult to beat, particularly at the Stadium of Light, where they are unbeaten in the Premier League this season, and I don't see that record coming to an end this weekend.

Of course, after that defeat of Manchester United, West Ham are trying to win three games in a week and I can tell you that is a really hard task. These things are difficult in football and it can be very tiring to play three games in nine days. Because of that, I think Sunderland will win.

The home team have, in Danny Welbeck, Darren Bent and Asamoah Gyan, three players who are really exciting to watch and, more importantly, all in form. If he starts, Welbeck is in confident mood at present and is my idea of a good bet to score at anytime at around [3.25].

Recommended Bets:
Back Sunderland to win at [1.9]
Back Sunderland to win 2-0 at [9.8]
Back Danny Welbeck to score at around [3.25]
